Mirchi 98.3 FM Conducts Scholarship 983 Test Across Kashmir valley
Mirchi 98.3 FM’s month long counselling and scholarship programme concluded with the final scholarship exam across the valley today.
Thousands of students participated in ‘Scholarship 983’ across the valley. Mirchi FM RJs extensively interacted with students of various schools alongside professional career counsellors during the month of October, sharing stories of success and creativity with the students.
During the interaction the emphasis was given on students to think differently.
“I never told anyone, what to choose or what not to, we spoke about being creative in whatever you do,’’ said RJ Vijdan , one of the most loved radio hosts and sketch comedians of the valley. “ Why do we remember Dr Ali jan, because I feel he cured creatively. The meaning of creativity has unfortunately been restricted to certain professions but in reality it is creativity that is the actual decisive factor in any career.’’
Speaking on the sidelines of the exam in North Kashmir Sopore, Vijdan shared his experience of interacting with the students. ‘’It’s very refreshing to come back to a school. There is enthusiasm and zeal amongst the students and I was asked some very tough questions as well, like how much do you earn?”
Scholarship exam in north Kashmir was written by students at SRM Welkin School, In srinagar students appeared for the scholarship exam at Kashmir Harvard and at Oxford school in south Kashmir.
In Srinagar, Morning show host for Mirchi FM RJ Mehak said, “I went back armed with real life experiences and sharing them was a great opportunity, after interaction I got to know how young Kashmiri minds are thinking, aspiring and growing.’’
Parents outside the exam centre in Sopore looked enthusiastic despite the cold weather this Sunday morning. “Writing an exam is a good opportunity for students but writing these exams also gives the students an experience of appearing in competitive tests in the future”, said Riyaz Ahmad, waiting patiently for his ward to finish the test.
Mirchi 98.3 FM has been partnering with several organisations and institutions through out the year in different fields.
Traffic awareness, student awareness and health awareness including drug abuse in the valley have been at the forefront of the FM station’s programming , using entertainment as a tool to impart information.
‘’We feel we can help bring the change in these sectors with our partners, as in this case we partnered with Mission E for a scholarship program worth lakhs of rupees. Scholarship 983 will benefit a lot of students who aspire to take their specific fields by a storm,’’ said Deeba Khan, Station head for Mirchi 98.3 fm Kashmir.
